SwapStrings exists to help guitar players discover gear that genuinely adds something to the experience of playing. Our editorial approach is built around usefulness, honesty and clear reasons for featuring a product — not scores, rankings or paid praise.

How We Choose What to Feature

We look for guitars, amplifiers, pedals and useful gear that have a clear reason to be here. That might be better feel, more useful features, stronger build quality, a more inspiring sound or simply something that makes day-to-day playing easier and more enjoyable.

We do not feature products simply to fill space, chase trends or because an affiliate link is available. The gear has to make sense for the player first.

Some of the products featured on SwapStrings use affiliate links, including links to Amazon. That may earn the site a commission when a qualifying purchase is made, but it does not decide what we feature or how we write about it.

SwapStrings does not buy traffic or pay for visitors. Our readership grows organically through search and through people finding, using and returning to the site.

How We Write

SwapStrings is not a review site. We do not score products, rank them for the sake of it, or write around prices. Our aim is to explain what a piece of gear could add to a player’s setup and why it might be worth considering.

We try to keep the writing practical, balanced and specific to the product, including meaningful drawbacks where they matter. We want readers to understand both the appeal and the limitations before making their own decision.

Corrections and Updates

We aim to keep product information accurate and useful, but specifications, availability and manufacturer details can change over time. When we become aware of something that is no longer correct, we update the content where appropriate.

We want SwapStrings to feel like advice from someone who genuinely cares about the gear and the person using it. If a product has limitations, we’ll say so. If it suits a particular type of player better than another, we’ll make that clear too.
